The Gippsland Performing Arts Centre in Victoria is all about setting the stage for inspiration – both creative and commercial.

The works included a new basement and ground floor building, a 750-seat performing arts centre, outdoor event areas, meeting rooms, a café, training facilities, car parking and improvements to adjacent on-street parking.

The enormous scale of the glazing demanded only the best window-and-door fabricating advice. Marcus Fitzpatrick from Latrobe Valley Glass was called in to offer his insights.

Gippsland Performing Arts Centre

Working in close collaboration with renowned builder, Becon Construction, Marcus recommended Hunter Evo 150mm D/glazed framing and 100mm acoustic framing. In addition, he recommended the Swan Evo DG commercial doors.

Alspec’s door and framing systems ensured the building was acoustically sound, filled with light, largely immune from the extremes of cold and hot weather, and complied with all green certification requirements.

The result is not just a beautiful place to work and create but a temperature-controlled space bathed in natural light all year round.
